Paul Duhamel of Reliable Home Inspection Service, a local firm based in Delaware which conducts inspections of new and existing homes, was honored recently by the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) for 20 years of membership.

The American Society of Home Inspectors, founded in 1976, is the oldest, largest and most respected international organization of home inspectors in North America.  Its Standards of Practice and strict Code of Ethics are benchmarks of professional performance in the field.

To become an ASHI Certified Inspector, an inspector must meet rigorous professional and technical requirements, including the successful completion of two comprehensive exams.  In addition, he or she must perform at least 250 fee-paid home inspections that meet or exceed the ASHI Standards of Practice. Paul was recently presented the designation of an ASHI Certified Inspector, ACI.

No one in this market has more experience.  Operating in Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Maryland, I have over 20 years of home inspection experience including over 16,000 residential, multi-unit, and commercial inspections.

I also conduct Radon testing in Delaware, Pennsylvania, ad Maryland using ELECTRET Radon Monitoring Systems (E-Perm chambers). Maryland has no certification program as of August 2002.

I have been a Public Speaker at home buyer seminars for many local banks, mortgage companies, and counseling agencies including: MNC Mortgage Company, Chase Manhattan Mortgage Company, PNC, DP&L Credit Union, Century 21, NCall Counseling Agency, Neighborhood House Counseling Agency, YWCA Centers for Home Ownership, and Interfaith Housing.

** PROPRIETOR **

I was the sole proprietor of Residential Revisions Company, a home renovation business. I was responsible for all aspects of company including job bidding, cast estimation and material take-off, extensive client consultation, drafting, development of plans and specifications. Jobs were handled from inception to completion.

** CONSTRUCTION **

I worked for H&R Construction Company. There, I performed all phases of residential contracting from framing to carpentry to supervision of job sites.

** LAB TECHNICIAN **

I worked as a Lab Technician in semi-works area at DuPont Experimental Station. I was able to perform controlled chemical reactions to create Elastomer samples for testing.
